The Band
STRANZINGER, named after charismatic, Austrian guitarist and frontman Reinhard Stranzinger, is a unique musical project, combining elements of various genres. As a former member of a number of renowned Austrian bands, such as Hubert von Goisern & die Alpinkatzen, ERSTE ALLGEMEINE VERUNSICHERUNG (EAV), SUPERMAX, and DRAHDIWABERL, Reinhard Stranzinger has left an unmistakable mark and is a defining figure in Austria's music scene.
With STRANZINGER, he has been following his own path for many years, which connects with his musical role models, while also setting new creative accents.
Following „Ois Oda Nix“ (1997) and „Wir san ned aus Zucker“ (2011), STRANZINGER's third album "I brauch mein' Rock 'n' Roll" (December 2024), combines catchy melodies with profound lyrics (in Austrian vernacular), offering a musical journey through various soundscapes. From a very rocky vibe to balladic moments STRANZINGER appeals to a broad audience. The latest album bears traces of Stranzinger's many years of experience and his unique approach to blending classic rock music with his own distinctive touch.

Reinhard Kochauf
Bass & Backing Vocals
Reinhard Kochauf started his musical journey playing rhythm guitar and singing in bands.
When a friend needed a bass player for his rock band, Reinhard took on the role and has stuck
with it ever since.
Over the years, Reinhard has played in various bands, including HANSI LANG,
WIENER BLUT, EL FISHER, SEXTIGER,
BLIND PETITION, FLIMP, and several
other rock and jazz ensembles on
electric bass and upright bass.
Since 2014, he has served as a substitute for STRANZINGER, and in 2024, after the
band’s long-time bass player quit,
Reinhard became a permanent member of STRANZINGER.

Guitars & Lead Vocals
Reinhard Stranzinger was born in the Innviertel region of Austria, across from the German state of Bavaria.
He lists boxing, traveling, blues, and love as the most important cornerstones of his life, and began his musical career in 1979 as a live and street musician.
Reinhard achieved his greatest successes between 1991 and 1994 alongside Hubert von Goisern, with whom he shaped around 800 concerts and live performances with the Alpinkatzen. In addition to his solo project, STRANZINGER, Reinhard was for many years the guitarist for ERSTE ALLGEMEINE VERUNSICHERUNG (EAV), SUPERMAX, and DRAHDIWABERL.
Tours with SUPERMAX repeatedly took Reinhard through Eastern Europe – alongside of METALLICA, WHITESNAKE, THE SWEET, NAZARETH, Tony Iommi, Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, and Glenn Hughes.
With his own band, STRANZINGER, Reinhard has shared the stage with international colleagues such as
JOHN MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, DEEP PURPLE, TOTO, ERIC BURDON, ROGER CHAPMAN & THE SHORTLIST, URIAH HEEP, and STATUS QUO.
DAvid Pernsteiner
Drums & Percussion
David Pernsteiner finds the world of rehearsal rooms and concert stages the most exciting.
That’s why he has been the longtime drummer for STRANZINGER, as well as for TRAPPED INSTINCT, CURTIS JENSEN, EL FISHER, and SEXTIGER.
He has performed as an opening act for
David Bowie, Bryan Adams, URIAH HEEP, STATUS QUO, MEGADETH, DANZIG, ERASURE,
H-BLOCKX, and DIE FANTASTISCHEN VIER.
With COMA DIVINE, David toured Germany twice. As a substitute, he has played
with acts such as HARRI STOJKA,
FALCO FOREVER TRIBUTE, and STILETTO.
A conservatory graduate, David is
proficient in all musical styles, spanning a range from rock to jazz to rockabilly.
